The Special Olympics provide competitive opportunities for athletes ages eight and older – some competitors are more than 70 years old – with intellectual disabilities, cognitive delays or development disabilities.

Every Saturday in February and the first Saturday in March, hearty individuals will plunge into freezing water at various locations in Oklahoma for the Polar Plunge to benefit Special Olympics Oklahoma.

Registration will begin at 10:45 a.m. and the plunge will happen at noon. “Events such as this unify the community which is incredible!” It is the biggest fundraiser done by Special Olympics Indiana to help serve around 11,000 athletes that participate in sports and training. The event also includes prizes for the best costume, incentives for dollars raised and an After Splash Bash. Participants can tag their photos using #KokomoPlunge for a chance to appear on the live social media feed at the event.
