Arthur Simpson-Kent, 48 is reported to be in the grips of the Ghana police today Saturday, two days after the police got involved in the hunt for him.

Scotland Yard confirmed they were investigating a triple murder following the discovery of three bodies hidden in the garden of the family home on Tuesday.

Met Police Detective Superintendent Paul Monk said officers are still searching for Miss Blake’s partner Arthur Simpson-Kent.

Simpson-Kent is expected to be taken back to Accra, the capital of Ghana, as soon as possible.

The Metropolitan Police spoke to Mr Simpson-Kent on 16 December, but that was the last time he was seen.

British authorities have not yet formally requested the extradition of Arthur Simpson-Kent, who was captured on a beach in the west African country; under Ghanaian law he can not be held for longer than 48 hours without a court hearing.

Locals in the area where Simpson-Kent had been hiding contacted Ghanaian police on realising he was a wanted man after seeing his image on social media.

DCI Gwyn added: “We continue to work alongside the Ghanaian authorities and agencies in London to progress this investigation and are discussing the extradition process”.

Police sniffer dogs led officers to make the grim find at the property in Erith, Kent where “significant attempts” had been made to hide the family’s remains.

Simpson-Kent left the United Kingdom after being questioned by police on December 16.

Another aunt, Fay Golding, 74, who lives in New Jersey, US, said: “I’m relieved”.

The Met has been criticised over delays in its investigation and is being investigated by the police watchdog, the Independent Police Complaints Commission. “We are here to get justice for them”.

Neighbours thought the family may have run away together to spend one last Christmas alone after signs that Sian’s dehabilitating motor neurone disease was taking over her, leaving her looking “very thin and frail”, said one.
