The Croatia worldwide has moved to the San Siro on a season-long loan deal from Chelsea, but he has not played a competitive match since February after suffering a herniated disc while on-loan at Monaco last season.
The Croatia global needed a two-day set of examinations and tests to see if his back injury, which kept him off the pitch since February, had healed.
The 21-year-old moved to Stamford Bridge from Hajduk Split in 2014 but is yet to make an appearance for the first team.
He added: “I was negotiating with two clubs, but then nothing came of it”.
“I feel good”, he told Milan’s official website. I am very happy and proud to be part of this club, one of the largest in the world. It is great to hear such big club wants you, although I’ve been out of action for long time. “The therapies weren’t working and I didn’t know how to get rid of the problem”.
“Fortunately, I found great people and solved my problem”.
