In the aftermath of the Pathankot Airbase attack, various sources have revealed that the Pakistani intelligence has refurbished the militant outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed(JeM) readying it for more attacks on India.
Indian officials had been warned beforehand that an attack could be imminent at the Pathankot base, and had flown commandoes there in case of trouble.
Kirby said the U.S has been clear “with the highest levels” of the Pakistan government that it’s counterterrorism operations must not discriminate among terrorist groups.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has on Monday ensured full cooperation to his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi for investigation into Pathankot Air Base attack, Aaj News reported. “Within the next few days, the Foreign Secretaries would be meeting in Islamabad, to determine the modalities of the renewed dialogue process”, Mr Sharif said at the Lakshaman Kadirgamar Institute of International Relations and Strategic Studies on “Pakistan-Sri Lanka Relations” here yesterday.
The information and leads, like the Pakistani numbers which the attackers had called and their intercepts, are understood to have been passed on by National Security Adviser Ajit Doval. “The immediate issue in front of us is Pakistan’s response to the terrorist attack and the actionable intelligence provided to it”.
“It (the attack) threatened to halt the improvement in Pak(istan)-India ties that we have seen over the past weeks – mainly as a result of diplomacy behind closed doors”, the editorial said.
Sharif “assured Prime Minister Modi that his government would take prompt and decisive action against the terrorists”, the PMO said. The statement, however, did not give details of the “leads” provided by India.
India’s foreign minister, Sushma Swaraj, met Sunday with former diplomats to formulate the government’s strategy of engagement with Pakistan in the coming weeks.

The UJC could also be trying to remain relevant even after India strengthened the LoC to stop infiltration of militants from the Pakistani side.
