Defence installations located along the India-Pakistan border continue to be put on high alert as they are the prime targets of Pakistan-based terrorist organisations following the attack on Pathankot Air Base.

Meanwhile, on the basis of the leads provided by Indian authorities, Pakistani officials had arrested some suspects in the case.
The Pakistani premier high-level meet reiterated that in tandem with the decision to counter and completely eliminate terrorism, Pakistan will remain engaged with India on this issue.
After the January 2 Pathankot air base attack, New Delhi said it had provided Islamabad with intelligence information to take action against the perpetrators who allegedly belonged to Pakistan.
This means that the bonhomie shown during Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Pakistan visit hasn’t died down and that both the nations want the warming up of relations to continue.
Pakistan’s law enforcement agencies on Wednesday arrested around a dozen people from different cities of southern Punjab on suspicion of their links with terrorists who attacked Indian airbase in Pathankot earlier this month.
Pakistani news channel ARY News reported on Monday that “some arrests” have been made in this regard but police did not confirm any arrest related to the Pathankot attack.
Secretary of State John Kerry spoke to Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif last week about the need for continuing dialogue in general terms, according to the State Department spokesperson.
Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Raheel Sahrif, Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar was also present in the meeting.
Islamabad said it was also considering sending a team to Pathankot to investigate the four-day attack. “There will be no talks before action”, Doval had said.
Pakistan acting on the evidence provided by India comes two days ahead of the Foreign Secretary-level talks scheduled for January 15.
Singh said since Pakistan has given the assurance to the Indian government, there should be no reason to disbelieve them so early.
