Patrick Kane removed from cover of EA Sports National Hockey League 16

Did EA Sports have any other option but to remove him from the cover?

In light of the incident, Kane will no longer be featured on the cover of the game or in any promotional material as the investigation continues with police gathering information and awaiting forensic results.

Jonathan Toews will be on the cover by himself with the Stanley Cup. It is now expected that the cover will feature only Toews.

Neither Kane’s attorney nor his agent could be reached for comment. Kane’s situation has been reported on extensively by the Buffalo News, which issued an article stating that Kane allegedly invited two girls back to his house before following one into a room and raping her, per Bleacher Report.

Hamburg Police Chief Gregory Wickett confirmed the investigation to the Associated Press last week, saying it involved something that may have happened at Kane’s home outside of Buffalo on August. 2.

Neighbors told the Tribune three unmarked police cars arrived at Kane’s gated mansion on Lake Erie the following evening and several plainclothes officers entered his house carrying flashlights.

The Chicago Blackhawks and the National Hockey League are watching the Patrick Kane story very closely, and as time passes I’m guessing any other endorsements that Kane has could start to fade away.

Kane is being accused of attacking and raping a young woman this past weekend at his lakefront home in Hamburg, NY.
