Patrick Kane Won’t Be on National Hockey League 16 Game Cover Amid Rape Investigation

The Buffalo News is reporting that an off-duty police officer named Lt. Thomas English was with Patrick Kane, and his accuser, on the night and into the early morning that the alleged rape took place, driving them to Kane’s home after they left a bar in Buffalo.

The person spoke on condition of anonymity Monday because authorities have not revealed any details of the investigation being conducted by Hamburg police. He has helped the Blackhawks win three Stanley Cup championships in the past six seasons.

Sports has dropped Chicago Blackhawks hockey player Patrick Kane as spokesperson for “Madden NHL 16” and removed the athlete from the game’s cover following sexual assault allegations against the hockey player. According to the report, Kane stands accused of sexually assaulting a woman he met at a downtown Buffalo nightclub the weekend of August 1. The News also reports that English is a longtime friend of Kane’s and has worked for him as a driver for five years. “It wasn’t her idea to go there”.

English says nothing unusual happened later when he drove Kane, one of Kane’s male friends, the alleged victim and her female friend back to Kane’s house.

The woman alleges Kane overpowered her and raped her in his house. It sets the table for the nauseous defense that the victim was asking for it. That she led Kane on.
