Patriots drop second straight game as Eagles pull off upset
New England is a 10-point home favorite versus Philadelphia today according to oddsmakers from online sports book RealBet.eu, while the total sits at 49 after opening at 48.5 points. Goode picked up the ball and returned it 24 yards for a touchdown with 8 seconds left.

Amendola missed last week’s game against the Denver Broncos, and the Patriots will be glad to have him back on the field as their offense has been decimated with injuries this season. An 11-yard pass to Amendola put the Patriots up 14-0 before the Eagles scored 35 unanswered points. “When we go to those sessions, it was just to get quality work against a really good team”.
Philadelphia Eagles rallied from a 14-0 deficit, scoring 35 consecutive points for a thrilling 35-28 win over Tom Brady’s Patriots, who have now lost back-to-back games.
The Patriots made it close. Quarterback Tom Brady, with the help of an onside kick, led the Patriots to two late touchdowns, the second with three minutes left.
But – after opening a big lead – they had to hang on after Kenjon Barner fumbled at the New England 25-yard line with 62 seconds to play. “We have to click on all cylinders – offense, defense and special teams”. And if you played Green Bay’s Richard Rodgers – who had eight catches for 146 yards and a TD on the final-play heave in Thursday night’s win at Detroit – definitely pat yourself on the back twice.
However, running back Darren Sproles fumbled the ball back to New England at its 25. On third-and-goal from the Eagles’ five midway through the third quarter – and the game surprisingly tied at 14 – Brady threw under pressure toward Danny Amendola at the goal line.
It was uh, so deflating, if you will.
The problem is Murray and the Eagles are stuck with each other for at least another season, probably two. It was ruled an incompletion. Supposedly it was the size of the Patriots linebackers that made shiftier, quick-twitch backs a better method of attack than a two-time Pro Bowler.
Down by two Brady touchdown passes, the Eagles got field position on a pooch kickoff by the Patriots and marched 59 yards for a touchdown, Bradford finding Ertz for his first score of the season.
Yikes, not exactly a great way for the first half to end. Philadelphia DE Fletcher Cox left, passed the concussion protocol and returned. “Where a player is Wednesday, where he is Thursday, where he is Friday and even occasionally the Saturday changes are all just reflective of what the player’s current condition is”. But he ran 83 yards on a punt return for a touchdown, ran for 66 yards on 15 carries and also caught four passes for 34 yards in the victory. When the Eagles want to get Sproles involved, the Patriots simply have not had an answer.
The Patriots were stunned.
Philadelphia (4-7) is miraculously only one game back in the NFC East despite dropping three games in a row. The Patriots tried another onside kick, but this one sailed out of bounds thanks Riley Cooper’s bat of the hand and eventually, the Eagles were able to hold on.
Newton drove the Panthers 75 yards in 11 plays for the game-winning score.
That said, Bradford is anything but the maestro that is Brady, who Kelly glowingly referred to Thursday as “that orchestra leader out there”.
Jabaal Sheard batted a Sam Bradford pass at the line of scrimmage in the first quarter, forcing a first-down incompletion.
And on Sunday, in one of the toughest places in the National Football League to play, the Eagles recorded one of the most improbable wins in recent franchise history.
