The injuries are growing during New England Patriots training camp.

The Patriots were down a running back for Friday’s practice session. Tyms and Martin were spotted on the field, but they weren’t in uniform.

Blount suffered an MCL sprain, according to a report from Shalise Manza Young of the Boston Globe. The source told the newspaper that Blount will be ready for the start of the regular season.

The running back, who was already suspended for the first game of the year for violating the league’s substance abuse policy, should be recovered by the season opener. He ran for 148 yards and three touchdowns on 30 carries in the 45-7 victory over the Indianapolis Colts in the AFC Championship game.

Considering Belichick’s plug-and-play approach with running backs, Blount’s loss isn’t likely to make a big difference for the Patriot offense, especially if it’s just for training camp.
