Patriots place Bryan Stork on short-term injured reserve
Quarterback Tom Brady’s four-game suspension was vacated and he will play on Thursday Night Football agains tthe Pittsburgh Steelers. He also missed time during training camp and preseason after undergoing offseason shoulder surgery, coming off the physically unable to perform list on August 25. The Patriots clearly determined it would take a while for that to happen with the short-term injured reserve designation.

The loss is a substantial one for the Patriots, who viewed Stork as a model lineman for their future. That’s not a big deal, however, as Jones hasn’t been active for a game since being drafted in 2013. He won’t be eligible to return to practice until after Week 6, and can’t play until after Week 8.
Some scenarios: Ryan Wendell could start at center with rookie Tre’ Jackson at right guard and either rookie Shaq Mason or Josh Kline at left guard. LB Alex Singleton was waived by the Seahawks Saturday (Sept. 5) in the cutdown to 53 players and was signed to the Patriots’ practice squad Wednesday.
