“We had, finally, some definition with Tom’s situation, so our priority now is to get Jimmy ready for the start of the season, for the (Week 1) Arizona game”, Belichick said at his press conference Wednesday, the first day of Patriots training camp.

Brady will be sidelined for the first four games of the regular season against the Arizona Cardinals, Miami Dolphins, Houston Texans and the Buffalo Bills. “That will be a comprehensive process”, Belichick said Wednesday at Gillette Stadium.
“Tom will return as our starting quarterback when he comes back”. Training camp practices start Thursday morning at Gillette Stadium, and Belichick is ready to prepare Garoppolo the best he can for the quarterback’s first National Football League starts.
Brady is eligible to participate in all preseason practices and games.
“His preparation, the time he spends at it, he cares deeply about getting better each day”, McDaniels said.
“We know what we have to work with and that’s what we’re doing”, he said, adding that Garoppolo’s situation is a “day-to-day” learning session.
So there you have it: Belichick eliminated the possibility of a quarterback controversy when Brady returns, and didn’t allude to a competition between Garoppolo and rookie Jacoby Brissett for the interim job. I think we have a good situation.
Belichick said it’s a good problem to have.

The Patriots have to deal with the dynamic of prepping three quarterbacks before Brady’s suspension begins in less than six weeks. I like going against the best.
