In case you’re living under a rock, the Deflategate scandal finally came to an end when Brady opted to accept the four-game suspension handed to him by the NFL for use of underinflated footballs in the 2015 AFC Championship Game. If he blows people away, maybe Belichick can move him in a trade later this year or in the offseason that nets New England a nice little haul. Star quarterback Tom Brady will be suspended, while wide receivers Julian Edelman and Danny Amendola, and running backs Dion Lewis and LeGarrette Blount are returning from injuries.

The soon-to-be 39-year-old quarterback also had nice touchdown throws to wide receiver Aaron Dobson, and he completed a missile on a deep crossing pattern to tight end Rob Gronkowski in his first throw of 11-on-11s. Not that Garoppolo or any quarterback would put up those numbers in a four-game span, but even if he did, it wouldn’t be enough.
“I never dealt with it until I’d say a decision has been made that this is what it’ll be”, he said.
The Patriots will kick off their preseason against the New Orleans Saints on August 11.
Safety Devin McCourty said Brady’s absence won’t change how the team plays defense.
At this point, we’ll just have to trust Babers, because we just have no way of knowing just how good or how bad Garoppolo will wind up being during the first month of the season.

“(Take it) one day at a time, and see how (the veterans) operate faster and try to get up to their speed”, Brissett said of Brady’s best advice.
“That’s why we play the game”, he said.
Special teams captain Matthew Slater said having Brady around during camp will be helpful.
Brady will return to be the starter on October 3 against the Browns on the road.

Moving forward means that Garoppolo will need to start against Arizona on September 11, and then again against the Dolphins, Texans and Bills. It’s a new beginning and while Belichick is anxious to get started, he knows that they have a long way to go.
