In his second trip to Manila, Paul George witnessed anew the Philippines’ unmatched love for the game of basketball.

After sustaining a catastrophic leg injury while playing for the Team US, the 2014-2015 National Basteball Association season was primarily a not-so-good season for The Indiana Pacers Paul George.

“He said all the right things”, Ellis said after signing the four-year $44 million deal he agreed to last week. George reiterated to the group that, just shy of one-year from his gruesome leg injury, he is 100 percent.

The Indiana Pacers’ superstar just shrugged it off and went to Tenement compound in the heart of Taguig City straight from the airport where he watched and experienced himself the Pinoy basketball in its truest form as part of his promotional tour for Nike Rise project.

Facing life challenges and pressure has surely a big part of Paul George’s career. George was once in the MVP conversation and could easily be considered an elite if he returns for the next season. “Without it, you miss the “it” factor and can’t do as well”.

Several Nike athletes will also serve as guest coaches and motivators and one of them is George, whose presence itself already serves as a source of inspiration for these underprivileged kids to find in themselves the ability to rise through basketball.

When sharing about his experience about making important decisions, George believes that setting small goals and giving it all are two keys towards long-term success.

“And that’s what I want to share with them”, added George, who will unveil the House of Rise to the public on Monday night, including the 24 basketball talents discovered by the program from around the Philippines.

Knowing and wanting to show support and appreciation to these Chinese pacers fans, Paul George made a surprise visit to the event today despite having to go through the heavy traffic of Beijing.

I have been out a year and coming back to a new team, building chemistry and being a leader is what I am ready to do. But being the undisputed leader comes a long way and you got to earn it and can’t take it for granted. Working extra hard, first come last to leave, being the best player on the practice floor.
