If you happened to be a One Direction fan at Lollapalooza’s kickoff, maybe catching Paul McCartney’s set didn’t top your list of acts to see.
“The Alabama Shakes singer-guitarist preformed a few Beatles classics”.
The video shows McCartney, clad in a white button-up shirt and black trousers, pointing to the left side of the stage and inviting Howard to play the song with him. Howard emerged with her guitar and shared vocal duties with McCartney. The former Beatle appealed to a crowd of all ages, from opening his set with “Magical Mystery Tour” to playing a duet with Alabama Shake’s Brittany Howard.
The combination of both talents after dark and near the end of McCartney’s two-hour-and-fifteen-minute set was a special sauce of inspired collaboration.
Kaskade has headlined some huge festivals, including Coachella and Ultra.
Tune in to Red Bull TV’s Lollapalooza livestream all weekend for performances by Metallica, Sam Smith, Florence + the Machine, and more.
