Paul Pogba: ‘I want to win Ballon d’Or at Manchester United’

I think that the Champions League is empty when Man United is not there.

Although the club did not mention the cost of the transfer, various sources said it was a world record €105 million.

The France worldwide has returned to the club where he started his senior career, after joining Juventus in the summer of 2012 for a fee of just £800,000.

Manchester United’s re-signing of midfield star Paul Pogba for a world record fee of £89million is a “massive gamble”, according to Warwick University’s football expert.

The Portugal worldwide has since become the club’s all-time top goalscorer, winning the La Liga, two Copa del Rey titles, two Champions League trophies and other titles.

“But I feel the time is right to go back to Old Trafford”.

Pogba first joined the Red Devils from Le Havre in 2009 as a 16-year-old.

“I spoke with a lot of players (who played under Mourinho) when he was at Real Madrid”, Pogba said. “For myself as well it’s a big challenge, too, just to come back to where I came from, where I grew up, where I started”.

“There’s a big expectation on him with the biggest ever transfer fee, but I think he’s a pretty confident lad that can handle that”.

United has missed out on some of its No. 1 transfer targets in previous offseasons – notably Gareth Bale and Cesc Fabregas in 2013 – but was determined to push this one through, even if it meant paying a fee widely regarded as overpriced. It has been well documented in recent seasons that United have lacked legs in midfield, a player to get up and down with that power through the middle.

The England worldwide has been an integral part of United’s side since Sir Alex Ferguson’s days in charge.

Pogba won four Serie A titles and two Italian Cups during his time with Juve. United is the most powerful team in the world with one of the most powerful strikers in Ibrahimovic, one of the most powerful managers in Mourinho, and now one of the most powerful midfielders in Pogba.

Now Mourinho’s side have to watch as last season’s Premier League winners Leicester City as well as Tottenham, Arsenal and Manchester City battle it out in Europe’s top club competition without them. “At Man United, it can happen”.
