Paul Pogba is worth world record £100million transfer fee, says Phil Neville

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho said Friday the club will wrap up its offseason transfer business by signing a “very good midfield player” before the opening weekend of the Premier League.

United will face Leicester City in the Community Shield on Sunday afternoon. Although he said was reluctant to talk about players from other teams, he said he is one short of his intended first-team squad of 23 players plus three goalkeepers. “I don’t like to speak about Paul (Pogba) because he’s a Juventus player and I don’t like other managers to speak about my players., I don’t speak about their players”.

Rooney was the name in the spotlight last night, though, as he marked 12 years at Old Trafford with a testimonial match against his former club, Everton, the proceeds of which are going to a variety of charities. People were saying when I went there that £30m was too much but then we started to win and people now look back and think “you know what, it wasn’t that expensive”.

“Honestly, the market closes on August 31, but I think my club is trying to do everything to close our market before August 14”.

“The money Man United bring in from a variety of sources means they can justify this kind of transfer, so it is not a insane deal from their perspective”.

He said: “I only speak about us”.

In 2013, when Rooney was reportedly left “angry and confused” at Old Trafford, Mourinho gave him 48 hours to decide whether he wanted to move to Stamford Bridge.

“We made decisions, decide to bring four players not 10, that are Manchester United level”.

The pair have been involved in a series of altercations in the past and with Mourinho seemingly annoyed with Wenger’s statement on Pogba, it just adds to the anticipation of the start of the Premier League season.

The 37-year-old former England global further spoke about Pogba and said that for him its all about football and players dont hold the deals its all about the clubs.
