“I’ve come back home, I’m happy.it’s just a great feeling”, the 23-year-old Pogba told United’s in-house TV channel on Tuesday. “It has always been a club with a special place in my heart and I am really looking forward to working with Jose Mourinho”, added Pogba.

Raiola fired back: “I put Pogba’s interests first”.

Pogba, who helped hosts France reach the Euro 2016 final, has won the Serie A title in each of his four seasons at Juventus.

It will be intriguing to see how Pogba fares out back at his old club, with United travelling to Bournemouth for their Premier League opener on Sunday.

His reign got off to a successful start on Sunday as Ibrahimovic scored the victor in a 2-1 victory over Premier League champions Leicester City in the Community Shield. And it’s a statement of intent by United after three years in the wilderness following Ferguson’s retirement at the start of a new era under Mourinho.

Jose Mourinho believes Manchester United now have a player they can build their team around for the next decade after signing Paul Pogba.

United will pay the Italian champions 105m euros for Pogba, plus 5m euros (£4.5m) in performance-related bonuses and other costs, including 5m euros if Pogba signs a new contract.

The front five of Ibrahimovic, Rooney, Anthony Martial, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Pogba has plenty of goals, power and quality in it, an upgrade on what Louis van Gaal had last season.

United fans will be desperate that she doesn’t get into a rift with Mourinho.

“I spoke with a lot of players when he was at Madrid”, Pogba told MUTV. Under Mourinho, it won’t happen any more.

And Guardiola has set about bringing more youth, pace and intensity into City’s squad by signing seven players – including Leroy Sane, Nolito, teenage Brazilian prodigy Gabriel Jesus, Ilkay Gundogan and most recently John Stones – for around $200 million.
