Paul Ryan calls for unity behind Donald Trump to pass conservative agenda
“I want to win this election so darn badly that I am willing to do this”, he said before twirling the iconic rally towel of the Pittsburgh Steelers above his head. “We will only fix problems if we are unified”, Speaker Ryan explained Tuesday morning.

The Wisconsin congressman – a Miami University graduate – used a football analogy to make his plea.
House Speaker Paul Ryan was the main speaker, speaking to a crowd of approximately 600 to 700 people. “We’re republicans. Are independent thinkers we’re always going to have that diversity”.
“This is the core of the country”, Ryan said.
“They are offering you a third Obama term brought to you by another Clinton – and we’re supposed to be excited about that?”
His sole reference to the Republican presidential nominee’s name was an attack at presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, Hillary Clinton.
If Donald Trump is elected president in November, Paul Ryan will be watching over his shoulder.
Ryan indicated that he looked forward to working with a future Vice President Mike Pence and President Donald Trump in 2017.
Ryan commended Ohio’s legislative leaders, calling them “workhorses”.
After the vote, the convention by voice vote nominated Indiana Governor Mike Pence. “This is my eighth convention, and I can tell you the energy here is palpable”.
“That’s the job of all of us, to get together to form a winning campaign”, he said.
For Ryan, who has been measured in his support for Donald Trump encouraged folks to vote for him, saying much like in sports, sometimes you support the candidate closest to your ideals, even if it isn’t your ideal candidate. He says he thinks the Republican Party has left behind prudent government spending.

Some delegates at the Republican National Convention jokingly booed the speaker after his flopped analogy. Now they need 28 members of the 112-member rules committee to get on-board with their “Dump Trump” movement. “In America aren’t we all supposed to see beyond class, beyond ethnicity?”
