Paul Ryan Calls Trump’s Judge Comments ‘Beyond the Pale’

Hewitt reiterated that he would support whomever the nominee becomes.

And now Republicans are dealing with the consequences of that surrender, as Trump refuses to suppress his bigoted views. Surely this is the continuation of the Trump campaign’s brash efforts to separate itself from the Republican Party – not so much in reality, but in voter perception.

Mica Mosbacher, a Texas and NY fundraiser who backed Trump as soon as her preferred candidate Ted Cruz left the race, said her email has been “blowing up over the past few days” with notes from Republicans concerned about Trump’s comments. Lindsey Graham of SC is urging others to follow suit. If anybody was looking for an off-ramp, this is probably it.

However, many Republicans have said they will still support Trump in the general election, and some Trump supporters have stridently defended his remarks about the judge.

No hedging, no qualifications.

The national security agenda is a key item in a broader policy blueprint House Speaker Paul Ryan is crafting that seeks to unite Republicans amid the frequent distractions triggered by Trump’s unconventional presidential campaign. “I just don’t think I need almost as much money as other people need because I get so much publicity”.

Ryan’s position is logically incoherent. Trump’s election night speech as “great”. “And that is just one of the many reasons why he will never be president of the United States”, Warren will say.

“I’d rather have the challenge of having to raise some money than having to pick up all the pieces that Donald Trump has smashed”, Spiker said. There will be plenty of times for post mortem after the campaign is over and if you want to ask me about it then that’s fine. “What matters here is winning and losing, first and foremost”.

Last but not least, there is “I know you are, but what am I?” response. Rep. You don’t attack a federal judge, and you certainly don’t attack him on the heritage of his parents.

But many say Trump has the delegates needed to prevail. Evidently everyone does. Nothing to see here.

“The whole thing is disgusting”, he said. “The delegates are the ultimate authority of the Republican Party”.

On Tuesday, the former New Jersey chairman for Ted Cruz’s 2016 White House bid said delegates have a “moral obligation” to launch an “insurrection” and “unbind” themselves to halt the billionaire’s rise. In both cases, utterly unscrupulous men intuited the potential of the moment and seized an opportunity to capitalize on it. “They shouldn’t be so angry for so long”. “Our party’s last nominee”. When Republicans turned on him in 1954, he was finished as a political force. It seemed as though the never-Trump crowd was finally out of options. Now he is taking it over.

So much for backing off attacks on Curiel’s heritage.

Hillary Clinton hadn’t even clinched the Democratic nomination when Craig Snyder, a longtime Republican, filed the paperwork to create a PAC to help get her elected.

Trump signaled Wednesday in an interview with Bloomberg Politics that he would instead continue to rely on free media attention to make up for his money deficit. “Sen. Mark Kirk unendorsed him. Sen”.

Even conservative talk radio host Hugh Hewitt, who remained neutral throughout the primary, blasted Trump on his radio show on Wednesday and called for the party to find a way to stop his nomination in Cleveland. “Paul Ryan endorses his racism against Mexicans”.

“I thought it was amusing”, Graham told reporters, asked if he thought the comparison is racist. “It’s antithetical to what we think and our principles”. And by the way, the awful trade deals that Bernie was so vehemently against and he’s right on that will be taken care of far better than anyone ever thought possible and that’s what I do. He has told us repeatedly who he is.
