In Ryan’s endorsement, he vowed he would defend conservative principles if Trump did not uphold them going forward.
Major differences remain, however. “He wants good things for the country”.
Praeli also praised Judge Curiel and his family as they represent the American Dream.
Rep. John Nygren, R-Marinette, was initially resistant to support Trump, and even indicated previously that he wouldn’t vote for him in November.
“We can get angry, and we can stay angry”, Ryan said in rolling the project out, “or we can channel that anger into action”. “We’re not going to agree on all things, but we’re going to agree on many things”.
Ryan also reiterated that the stakes are incredibly high for the Republican party. It’s the same kind of near-sightedness that prompted Republicans to embrace tea party voters, some of whose vitriol stoked the political climate that’s made a Donald Trump candidacy viable. Trump has singled out Curiel for criticism in recent days after he unsealed some documents in a case involving Trump University.
Just days after trashing New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez at a rally in Albuquerque, Donald Trump now says he respects her and is asking for her support.
Curiel is a native of IN whose parents emigrated from Mexico. “She’s promising another Obama term”, Ryan said Thursday. And when I feel the need to, I’ll continue to speak my mind.

That endorsement has understandably overshadowed discussion of the ideas on Ryan’s agenda, but we hope that situation changes soon.
As the GOP’s “Never Trump” movement struggled to identify a viable alternative, many believed it was only a matter of time before Ryan fell in line. Mr. Trump will help turn House GOP ideas into law, Mr. Ryan said, in a way that a President Hillary Clinton would not.
“It really comes down to that at the end of the day”, he said during the radio interview.
The House GOP agenda project was launched at the annual GOP policy retreat in January.
A Ryan aide later clarified that Ryan’s tweet was an endorsement.
“A Better Way” is a policy-heavy, optimistic vision for governing that will be driven, in Ryan’s telling, by the House of Representatives that he leads.
