Paul Ryan on Trump’s Judge Remarks: ‘Out of Left Field’
He’s not publicly backing any of Trump’s policies.

“I’d like to see a more studious approach”, McConnell said on CBS This Morning.
“It is my hope the campaign improves its tone as we go forward and it’s all a campaign we can be proud of”, Ryan told The Associated Press.
And, the day after the endorsement, Ryan lashed out at Trump’s suggestion that a federal judge should recuse himself from a case involving one of Trump’s companies because of his Mexican heritage.
Wisconsin Democrats reacted to Ryan’s endorsement with scorn.
I’d like to have it, Trump told The Santa Fe New Mexican in a story posted late Thursday.
A top Republican official said Friday night that Trump’s comments on Curiel are making huge waves in the party.
But Tapper refused to drop the subject until Trump offered a yes-or-no answer.
“I understand your position institutionally but people do have to speak out, what do you think?” It’s reasoning I don’t relate to.
We like Ryan’s attempt to focus more attention on a legislative agenda his party will support.
Ryan’s announcement marked a significant step for a GOP desperately trying to come together ahead of a general election matchup against Clinton, the likely Democratic nominee.
“The failed Romney-Ryan presidential ticket in 2012 was the catalyst for a GOP autopsy report that said Republican leaders should move the party in a new direction”, she said.
If that weren’t bad enough, Trump has singlehandedly repudiated decades of Republican foreign-policy thinking.
The questions matter, but not because they will shape Trump’s behavior. Now Donald Trump is saying the judge needs to be investigated, someone should look into him.
One Trump supporter was struck with an egg and another was hit in the head with an object as demonstrators waved Mexican flags and protesters changed “F*** Donald Trump” amid scenes that police struggled to contain. Trump interjected to talk about Clinton’s emails.
The Trump who said in a November debate that he was opposed to raising the minimum wage? But Ryan, of course, is now on record supporting that same candidate. But the reverse is already true: The Republican establishment has, with Ryan’s capitulation, made Trump’s agenda their own.
Major differences remain, however. Do you also agree that anyone with a Hispanic surname should be disqualified from presiding over any cases having to do with the nominee or his businesses?
More troubling, Adler said, is that comments seem to fit a pattern of intemperate remarks Trump has made during the campaign.
The two also break on immigration.
Prior to Thursday’s announcement, Ryan had openly clashed with Trump several times.
“We obviously have a different kind of style and tone”.
“I mean, that’s the alternative”, the Republican senator told the AP. The Trump who said in a March debate that beating ISIS would require 20,000 to 30,000 US ground forces? “We don’t make good deals”.
Trump said he’s broken “by millions” the record for GOP presidential primary votes.
