Paxton Lynch’s first National Football League touchdown pass is worth watching again

Lynch remained the No. 3 quarterback throughout the last few weeks. Sell a share or two of Mark Sanchez.

Parts of it will be unpleasant – particularly when it comes time to dissect a second quarter that began with a Trevor Siemian interception and ended with Mark Sanchez’s lost fumbles on two consecutive sacks that ended drives in scoring range. Sanchez had the Broncos offense inside of San Francisco territory three times on Saturday night and was only able to come away with three points. But Siemian didn’t look in any other direction, and San Francisco’s Eric Reid jumped the pass.

(Note: Although Kubiak was asked about Lynch in his postgame press conference, the coach thought the question was about Siemian).

“I just can’t turn the ball over”, Siemian, a Northwestern product, said via ESPN. I want that one back. that one bad play. “I told him I can’t put the team in a situation like that”. You try to keep your quarterback in the best position possible. On the first play of the second quarter, Siemian took the snap and looked right toward Demaryius Thomas. We all take responsibility for it. Obviously we have to hang on to the good things and find a way to protect the ball. After two games in the National Football League preseason, many people are wondering what really is the status of quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who was part of the success when leading the 49ers in two NFC appearances and one Super Bowl outing several years ago. He is a terrific leader and he has played well at times.

If I were in charge of the world, I would name the stadium Mile High Stadium and the starting quarterback Paxton Lynch. “I know we have to do our job a lot better to help those three, no matter who it is”. Instead, as he said, he played “like crap”, admitting he squandered a huge opportunity.

Lynch finished the night 15-26 for 113 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. Sanchez was 10-of-17 for 120 yards with the two fumbles and was sacked three times. He did some really good stuff [Saturday night]. “He made some mistakes, too”. “I just told you guys that he’s behind the other two from a knowledge standpoint, but we’ve been out there competing every day”. We need to keep him coming, keep bringing him along. “We’re going to keep working here, find the guy that we think is best for our football team and go from there”.

“He’s always been in the mix”, Kubiak said Saturday, via Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.

He also let it be known he couldn’t promise. Then I got some carries and got a chance to feel the game and get into a rhythm. Maybe, give Sanchez a couple series in between.

“I think they all had their ups and downs tonight”, Anderson said of the quarterbacks. I am sure he didn’t mean much out of the answer, but it was just the wrong choice of words.

But I’m not Kubiak. So basically, he might throw, he might not, we won’t know until we hear on Monday.

But once he got in front of the podium, Kubiak continued to reference three different players and said the guy who is best for the team will start at quarterback.

There is no way the Denver Broncos end up starting a rookie quarterback.

Rookie Paxton Lynch, whom Kubiak has lauded for his acclimation to the playbook and pro speed, took the field with about 12 minutes remaining in the third and turned in another up-and-down performance. “That’s where I’m going right now”.
