The source said that the PCB had only chose to apply for a visa for Amir after legal consultations.

England captain Alastair Cook has called for life bans for players found guilty of match-fixing.
Alastair Cook has urged the International Cricket Council to take a tougher line on match fixers by banning them for life but said he had no problem playing against Mohammad Amir this summer. “I nearly had a point to prove not just to everyone else but to myself, and show that I can play at this level”, said Root, who has rarely looked back.
Despite calling for life bans for players engaging in corrupt activities, Cook has no issue facing Amir again as he feels he has served his punishment which was handed to him by the authorities.
Joe Root has set himself a target of converting more half centuries into centuries as he seeks to help England clinch a 3-0 series whitewash against Sri Lanka by winning the final Test at Lord’s starting tomorrow (June 9th).
Mohammad Amir is poised to make his return to Test cricket at Lord’s next month, scene of the 2010 spot-fixing scandal, after reportedly being granted a United Kingdom visa for Pakistan’s tour of England this summer. He has now been named in all three squads for Pakistan’s upcoming tour of England and had his visa approved on Tuesday.
“It is ironic that his first Test will be back here at Lord’s”, Cook added.
“That’s what we should do to try and protect the game”.
“Who knows what the wicket will bring”, Cook said. After struggling in seam-friendly conditions in the north of England, the tourists will be eager to make hay with the bat at a venue that often produces high-scoring games.
“A lot of the games have really good attendances, so I don’t think that’s a series where you need to do it at this precise moment in time”.
This final Investec Test against Sri Lanka represents a last chance for Compton in his second coming as an England player to avoid being condemned as not quite good enough and banished back to the county ranks with Middlesex.
“The quality of the ball is vital”, reported AFP.
“On my two occasions with the pink ball, it didn’t do any of that – and then it nipped all over under twilight”. For this fixture, Sri Lanka may make changes to their side. “With this weather and given the pitch as well – which looks like it will be batting-friendly – I think there’s a chance for us to dominate them”.

Although Root remains a delightful touch player – his innings in the World T20 against South Africa where his 83 off 44 balls marshalled England’s huge chase was a stand-out example – his boundary-hitting has been one of the areas that has developed most significantly since the early days of his global career when a slight, scrawny 21-year-old made 73 off 229 balls against India in Nagpur.
