Pebble introduces Quick Looks, Fast Actions and more
Pebble’s latest update, Pebble 4.0, tweaks the fundamentals of how the Pebble’s Timeline operates, both on the user and development side of the spectrum, as well as revamps the wearable popular Health app.

The company has redesigned Pebble Health around activity tabs that display step count and sleep performance.
Included in Pebble firmware version 4.0 is an improved version of Pebble Health that’s easier to find.
The new Pebble app and firmware launching today on Android and iOS bring a new design to the Health app, a feature that’s slowly been getting better over the past year. Press Right from each activity to dive deeper and compare how you’re now doing with your typical performance from the past week.
After introducing Pebble Health last December, Pebble has been building out its smartwatch health and fitness features.
The Pebble 2 is expected this September, but in advance of that comes a new software update that adds a lot to existing watches.
Pebble Firmware 4.0 works with Pebble Time, Pebble Time Steel, Pebble Time Round, and the next couple of releases: Pebble 2 and Time 2. Press Select from your watchface for a new Launcher menu that’s built for speed. The banner design shows more items at once. There’s also a new feature called App Glances that’ll show preview info without requiring you to actually open an app.
Pebble firmware 4.0 also includes speed improvements. This includes faster system animations, a 4-button Quick Launch that’ll let you assign your favorite apps to the Up, Down, Back, and Select buttons, and refreshed iPhone and Android apps. Email actions now let users on iOS devices reply, delete and archive mail from Gmail accounts using the Gmail, Inbox and Mail apps, too. To try iPhone Email Actions, go into your Pebble app, go to Settings, then tap Email Preferences.

On iOS and Android, ensuring you’ve received the update is as simple as opening the companion Pebble app on your smartphone, popping into the settings menu, tapping Support, and checking the software version number listed.
