Pederson to join Eagles’ anthem protest?
“I think it just shows unity, and there’s no division that way”, Pederson said Saturday.

Malcolm Jenkins (at right, celebrating with Rodney McLeod) says the Eagles are planning a statement for Monday night.
“I’m just in the middle, man, just sittin’ here letting everybody express themselves”, defensive end Brandon Graham said.
“Sometimes you’ve got to rock the boat to get a little bit of change”, Jenkins said after practice. Last week, we talked about doing some stuff, but we wanted to make sure we didn’t do anything to take away from the folks, the families, that suffered from 9/11.
Hopefully this doesn’t hurt the feelings of any cops that may choose to withdraw their services in the Bristol, Conn., area, because the last thing anyone wants in all this is sad cops. “But if I feel like it’s disrespecting anything that I feel the national flag represents, I won’t be participating”. And so that’s really just drawing attention to it, so your community pushes those things to the forefront, especially when you talk about elections and selecting presidents and who is going to do what.
“Granted, it’s not how I want it to happen, but that’s the realization of what could happen”.
CHIEFS’ CHARLES DOUBTFUL FOR WEEK 2: Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles is doubtful for Sunday’s game at Houston as he continues to work his way back from surgery last season to fix the torn ACL in his right knee. Jenkins was criticized for bringing up such a subject – part of the protest message has to do with how African-Americans are treated by police – at a time when anti-police sentiment seems to be fueling violence against law officers. Do we want to do something as a team or as individuals?
“She has not indicated any way that her foreign policies are going to be any better or more effective than this president’s”, Zeldin continued, adding that Clinton would allow for more refugees into the country than the Obama administration. Along with his teammate, a player on the Seattle Seahawks, Jeremy Lane, joined in the protest the same day.
All of this is fine with coach Doug Pederson, who actually wouldn’t rule out joining in something himself, so long as it’s not a distraction to the team. But because I know only my life, I can never begin to fully understand life as Colin Kaepernick or Malcolm Jenkins or any minority who has been oppressed directly or indirectly in this country.
“If it was team-wide, if they wanted to do something team-wide, I’d definitely be for that”. What makes our country stronger is, if there’s a cause you want to champion, you would open up a really healthy and productive dialogue with people across the spectrum of race, gender, socioeconomic status.
“If something like that were to happen, you’ve proved my point”, said Kaepernick when asked about the possibility of the threats being acted upon.

“I think it’s going to continue”, Pederson said.
