The 74-year-old Brazilian was admitted last week to the Albert Einstein Hospital, his third hospitalization in less than a year.
Pele “was discharged today”.
The hospital says Pele was hospitalized on Monday and had the surgery on Tuesday. “The patient left hospital at 4 p.m.”, the hospital said in a statement. The procedure was to treat a condition that creates urinary problems because of an enlarged prostate, doctors said at the time.
Last November, he underwent surgery for kidney stones and then came down with an infection that required treatment in a hospital intensive care unit for several days.
