Pelicans 3-pointer: Scott Rabalais breaks down media day
The Tall Blacks and Breakers shooting guard has been included in the 18-strong group to attend the Pelicans training camp in West Virginia (beginning on Wednesday, NZ time) after impressing coaches with what he was able to produce at three days of organised workouts.

Leg injuries have been a trouble spot for Holiday in both of his two seasons in New Orleans, and it appears that in an attempt to keep him on the court for a full campaign, the Pelicans will reduce his workload. “We’re here to win”. “We all have a hunger”, Quincy Pondexter said. But that’s got to be the aspiration that we have for our franchise. This morning was their first workout in the tennis center. With Alvin Gentry bringing a Golden State Warriors style with him, the Pelicans’ goal is to move into elite territory.
” We watched Corey Webster for the last couple of years in worldwide competition and he’s played very well”, Demps said, when asked about the largely unknown New Zealander at media day in New Orleans.
“That whole locker room and this whole coaching staff is excited”. “From the coaches to the players to the front office, everyone cohesively has a hunger for this season and going forward”.
The often jovial Davis deadpanned that he might let fly as many as 15 3s in a game, before adding more seriously, “Whether I’m in the corner or (shooting) trailer 3s (on the break) or whatever, I’m not going to fall in love with it”.
“I raced him the other day and I realized how fast he was”, Evans said, adding with a grin that the result of the sprint was “a tie”. We’re going to try and get the ball up and down the floor.

A majority of Pelicans’ players made sure to get a jump on things well before training camp opens. “That was my main motivation of going out there. Everybody was out there to get a great foundation with this new staff. Our work this offseason really shows how much we want to get better and win”.
