“No, because when I finished with Málaga [in 2013] I had three or four options, the best teams in Europe”.
The Chilean won the title and the League Cup in his debut season but, for some, his popularity has waned in recent months despite winning his second League Cup and guiding the club to the semi-finals of the Champions League for the first time in its history.
“I’m not happy about losing in the semi-final, but it’s better that what this club did before”.
He said: “You always feel that you can do it better, especially for me”.
“I have tried to give to this team what I think football is”.
Man City face the Gunners without a host of senior players.
“I would like to visit a lot of cities in Scotland, Ireland [and] the south of England”.
Full-backs Pablo Zabaleta (calf) and Aleksandar Kolarov (knock) are also out, along with playmaker David Silva (hamstring), but Samir Nasri returns, having been ineligible for the trip to the Spanish capital. But what about the football?
“As for his future, that is an issue I don’t think I should answer because I will not be here”.
He added: “Of course, it is a special game because I will be finishing here after three intensive years”.
Manuel Pellegrini believes he has several more years before he retires from management and is targeting another job in the Premier League.
“If you are not in the four positions in the Champions League and demonstrating you are among the best teams in England, for me it’s a disastrous season”. I am finishing my contract here but of course I’m anxious about that [not qualifying] because I want to finish the season in the best way. I think we deserve to be in the Champions League next year, as in the whole year we have been in a Champions League spot from the beginning to the end. “That is a disaster for all the big teams”.
Manuel Pellegrini is set to leave Manchester City at the end of the season. They deserved to win the title because they were the best team.
Pellegrini, though, does not seem overly concerned.

Wenger faced protests from his own fans during last weekend’s 1-0 win over Norwich City, but also received voluble backing from the majority of the Emirates Stadium crowd. The last five games we won four and lost just one. “After that everyone can make a positive analysis or a negative one”.
