Pellegrini Wary Of In-Form Ighalo, Watford
Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini has slapped a 1am New Year’s Eve curfew on his title-chasing squad.

Leicester City is now second in the Premier League with 39 points having won 11 games, drawn 6 and lost 2.
“Yes of course, because if we didn’t win the last games that we play away, it is because we must improve”, said Pellegrini. “I think we are going to win the title if we don’t depend on just one player”.
The Italian insists stars Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez are going nowhere in January with their team sitting second in the table, level on points with leaders Arsenal.
Claudio Ranieri admits he is praying for an all-English Champions League final between Arsenal and Manchester City.
The teams last played in August 2015 and the game ended in a 1 – 1 draw.
But Pellegrini saw positives in Tuesday’s goalless draw at second-placed Leicester and the team will look to build on that as they travel to Watford on Saturday.
“We have 29 points and are really close to the objective”. He added: “Yes, when I think it’s the right moment to give him a rest, I’ll give it to him”.
“We hope that he can recover as soon as he can but it’s very important until we solve this to defend the way we did in this game”.
City will still be without injured midfielder Samir Nasri at Vicarage Road, while captain Vincent Kompanyis at least three weeks away from a return as he recovers from the calf injury that has blighted his season.
Asked if he wanted his squad in bed by midnight tonight, Pellegrini said: “No, not before midnight”.
“It’s a pity as he is a really important player for us and plays a key role in defence”.
Pellegrini said the club is determined to get to the bottom of his curse: “We think that he is a very professional player”. We played very well against Sunderland and also against Leicester. I think we are in the correct way’.
“We were calm, tried to do our job”.
However, when it comes to points earned per game across all the 94 clubs involved in the top four divisions, Leicester sit outside the top 10, as shown by this table from Sky Sports.

“I’m very pleased but I’m also very pleased with a clean sheet against these great champions (City)”.
