Pelosi: Democrats may quit Benghazi panel with Clinton done

“So all we were trying to do is make sure that we defended the truth”.

Hillary Clinton testified in front of Congress in an eleven-hour hearing regarding her involvement in the Benghazi scandal, quelling concerns about her 2016 presidential campaign, according to CNN. The hearing was contentious, with Republicans mounting widespread criticism of Clinton’s tenure as Secretary of State. The questioning was, by turns, harsh and sympathetic, depending on who was asking.

If I am our nominee, I will force her to have to run on her track record, or lack thereof. Stevens was the first ambassador to be killed on foreign soil since 1979. She said the GOP-led panel has distorted the events in Benghazi to the point where there is a “disconnect with reality that exists on that committee”.

Directly following Thursday’s hearing, Gowdy, the committee chairman, needed more time when asked what new information he learned from her.

Pocan also criticized the panel’s cost, which has been estimated to be around $4.5 million following 17 months of investigations. I have been no fan of hers, but now I think the Republicans did her a favor.

“She told the foreign leader that it had nothing to do with a video so there’s this dichotomy between what we tell the American people versus what we tell folks in private”, he added. Both showed off her foreign policy credentials and command of the issues for a broader audience, they said. Why were security requests denied? Why was the military not ready to respond quickly on the 11th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks?

The conflicting stories by the administration early on about whether the attack was a planned terrorist attack or spontaneous partly stem from the difficulty any official would face in trying to nail down a fluid situation far from home.

“These questions linger”, he argued, “because previous investigations were not thorough”.

The Republican decision to move away from Clinton’s emails means that Republicans have thrown up the white flag, and their master plot to stop Hillary Clinton is in the process of being abandoned. When this frustrated family member went on “Hannity” to share his thoughts about Clinton’s performance, he was a little more blunt. But said he did not know whether the embattled panel gained credibility.

Speaking more generally about the Obama/Biden era, the former Secretary of State said, “I want to build on the progress that they are leaving behind”. You can’t knock her down. “I can only tell you what the facts were”.
