Democratic strategist Bill Burton predicted that the forces of political gravity would begin to take effect.

“Bernie Sanders for the great invigoration he is bringing to the presidential primary, and welcome the political and intellectual participation of his supporters to advance our shared fight for progress for the American people”, she continued. Warren has not yet endorsed a candidate in the Democratic race, but has been bashing Donald Trump occasionally over the last month or so. While a vast majority of these delegates have pledged to support Clinton, their pledges could be revoked at any time.

Following the Associated Press report, a spokesman for Bernie Sanders came forward to clarify that the senator is still in the race.

The AP surveyed all 714 superdelegates repeatedly in the past seven months, and only 95 remain publicly uncommitted. For him, sitting on the grass as Dave Matthews played, the Democratic party rules and the delegate math were rigged against Sanders.

“A vote always counts, even if your candidate doesn’t win”, said Juan Alvarez, 48, a maintenance supervisor at an apartment complex.

It is likely Clinton will ask Sanders to suspend his campaign and throw his weight behind her as the frontrunner and likely Democrat candidate.

Indeed, Clinton’s victory is broadly decisive.

AP says its count has Mrs Clinton on 1,812 pledged delegates and 571 superdelegates.

Echoing the sentiments of California Gov. “The sooner that Platform Committee members publicly signal they will unify around a bold progressive agenda, the sooner Bernie Sanders and his supporters will know they have achieved the mission of helping to transform the future of America”.

Opinion polls in California have suggested that the race with Mrs Clinton there is close.

Mr. Sanders and Mrs. Clinton are blitzing California Tuesday on their final day of campaigning in the state’s Democratic primary. Her deep unpopularity among Republicans has pushed many leery of Trump to nevertheless embrace his campaign.

Yet Clinton showed no signs of limping into the general election as she approached the milestone, leaving Sanders behind and focusing on lacerating Trump.

‘It’s wonderful that she’s a woman, ‘ she said.

“He is not just unprepared”.

But she prevailed, in part, by claiming much of the coalition that boosted Obama.

However, the former secretary of state has not yet claimed victory, urging supporters to vote and help push her to a strong finish. Forty-three men later (42 of them white) Hillary Clinton makes history today by being the first female nominee for the White House. Vice President Joe Biden, seen as her most threatening rival, opted not to run in October.

Of the four opponents who did take her on, Sanders was the only one who emerged to provide a serious challenge. His ability to raise vast sums of money online gave him the resources to continue into the spring. They pushed superdelegates into making early commitments and held campaign appearances in areas where they could win the most pledged delegates.

“But we still have work to do, don’t we?” she said, referring to Tuesday’s primaries in California, Montana, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Dakota and South Dakota. The brash real estate mogul and reality TV star has long since turned his attention from primary foes to Clinton, debuting a nickname – “Crooked Hillary” – and arguing she belongs in jail for her email setup.

Campaigning in Los Angeles, Clinton said the timing of an official endorsement was “up to the president”.

Mr Trump said Judge Curiel, who is overseeing lawsuits against Trump University, would not treat him fairly because he was a Mexican opposed to his plans to build a wall between the U.S. and Mexico. And the second point that I have made is that it is absolutely imperative that we defeat Donald Trump as a candidate for president of the United States.

Obama and Sanders spoke by phone Sunday.

“I thought the race was over two Tuesdays ago”, Jackson said as he dropped off his ballot. Again, I think it is premature, up to the people. “I am a Democrat”, Valdez said.

The Sanders campaign called it “unfortunate” that the media rushed to count the votes of superdelegates before they actually vote at the convention this summer. She will be dependent on superdelegates who do not vote until July 25 and who can change their minds between now and then. Bill Richardson, a superdelegate and Clinton supporter, offered the same respectful but blunt counsel.
