Pence declines to call David Duke ‘deplorable,’ disavows support

Pence, the governor of IN, said on Twitter Monday night that his comments about Duke, IN a pair of interviews on CNN and Fox News, were being taken out of context. He has repeatedly declined during the 2016 campaign to either walk back or expand on the claims, arguing that it would draw media coverage and distract from what he considers the race’s core issues.
