Pence emerges in NC with praise, ‘forgiveness’ for Trump
In Sunday night’s debate, Trump denied that he forcefully touched women without their consent and told the national audience: “I’m not proud of it”.

In the debate, Trump labelled Clinton the worst abuser in the history of politics after dismissing his degrading language in the video as “locker-room talk”.
With that in mind, who would Trump choose as Pence’s successor?
“We all fall short of the glory of God”, Pence said during a campaign rally in Charlotte, North Carolina. “If he does not step aside, I will write in a Republican for the Office of President”, Haslam continued.
Pence was then asked if evidence surfaced that Trump had groped women, like he described in 2005, would he drop off the ticket.
“I was at breakfast this morning and Senator Tim Kaine called to interrupt me five times”, he said, referring to Kaine’s frequent interruptions of Pence during the recent vice presidential debate at Longwood University. “I hate it. It’s locker room talk”, Trump said at one point. A poll found that 52 percent of Americans think it should remain open, and while he sees the appeal – “potentially risky people are locked up and far away” – there are more reasons to shut it down. “But, I’m certainly not going to vote for Hillary Clinton”. Even before the debate began, Trump appeared at a news conference with four women: three who had accused President Bill Clinton with sexually attacking or harassing them and a fourth who was a rape victim at age 12 whose alleged attacker had been represented by Hillary Clinton, a court-appointed defense attorney.
If elected, Trump said he would instruct his attorney general to appoint a special prosecutor to investigate Clinton’s use of a private email server while she was secretary of state. World magazine called on Trump to withdraw as the Republican nominee.
Ohio Republican Party Chairman Matt Borges said that for Trump, “The debate is now everything”.
Pence addressed the awkwardness with a savvy statement acknowledging his own performance and preserving his alliance with Trump.
“It takes a big man to know when he’s wrong and to admit”, it, Pence told the audience.
“In the past I have expressed my concern with Donald Trump’s policy positions”. During the 90-minute event, Pence managed to not defend Trump’s indefensible behavior, yet still sound supportive and show off his own expertise on foreign policy.
Pence accused Martha Raddatz, one of the moderators of Sunday’s debate, of having “mischaracterized” his own comments on Russian Federation and Syria in the October 4 vice-presidential debate, saying he was addressing the Aleppo humanitarian crisis, not the broader conflict in Syria.
For instance Sen. Deb Fischer, R-Neb., said on Friday that Trump’s leaked 2005 remarks about grabbing women’s genitals were “disgusting and totally unacceptable”.

The Washington Post and NBC broke the story of Trump’s words about women as Pence advocated for Trump in Ohio. He first noted the fact that Trump apologized for the comments, but Saturday evening Portman announced he won’t vote for Trump and will write-in Trump’s running mate Mike Pence instead.
