Pence endorses Cruz for president
He did so somewhat half-heartedly.

Sources that have knowledge of plans by Pence have confirmed that he would be announcing his support of Cruz on Friday. “I will be voting for Ted Cruz in the Republican primary”.
“I will say this: I have tremendous respect for Gov. Mike Pence”, Cruz said, with Fiorina standing at this side.
Pence was in an interesting position. And so we see mush like this.
In a phone interview Thursday night, King said Cruz and Pence are “close to a match” philosophically.
Mr Pence’s conservative tenure has been controversial, even in a state long considered a Republican stronghold.
The political culture is “less bellicose”, said Dr Karagaac, and would not be as favourable to Mr Trump’s brash style.
Pence appeared to regain some ground by recently signing a restrictive (and possibly unconstitutional) abortion law that prohibits an abortion because the fetus may have Down syndrome.
“I just wanted to make my decision known”, Pence shared.
Okay, okay. Ready to endorse Cruz now?
Cruz called Boehner’s comments “striking”, adding the former house speaker was “letting out his inner-Trump”. Not only that, but he spends about as much time emphasizing that he’ll work his heart out for the eventual nominee (hint, hint) as he does in talking up Cruz.
The latest IN poll is from Clout Research, and it has Trump leading Cruz 37-35, with about 32 percent of respondents saying they’re not all that committed to their positions. Those newly engaged voters are exactly who Pence would love to keep active for his campaign in November. “Sorry. I don’t consider a convicted rapist a ‘tough guy, ‘” she said this morning in Indianapolis.
Mr Pence had been under extraordinary pressure to get off the fence in the race – and now he has.
The Indiana primary is a must-win for Mr Cruz, who is running out of opportunities to lure delegates away from The Donald, prevent him securing the necessary 1,237 majority and thus force a nomination fight at the part’s convention in July. The first poll taken in IN shows a dead heat.
“I’m not against anybody”, Pence noted, “but I will be voting for Ted Cruz in the upcoming primary”.
Pence noted that the national picture requires unity.
“Absolutely underwhelming.this was the ultimate cover-your-bases endorsement”, Tully said, “He’s in a dogfight of an election of his own”.
Speaking to California Republicans, Trump said of Cruz: “He has no path to victory”.
It’s unclear whether the endorsement will sway Hoosier voters, or if it comes too late.
Pence, who faces his own re-election test this fall, also praised Trump, who had personally lobbied the governor to embrace his candidacy – or at least to make no endorsement ahead of Tuesday’s primary.

Cruz, a US Senator from Texas, is trailing the NY billionaire in the Midwestern state after losing to him by a wide margin in all five Northeastern states that held nominating contests on Tuesday.
