Trump said Tuesday he was “not quite there yet” to endorse Ryan, who faces a primary challenge for his Wisconsin congressional seat next week.

After a week of controversial headlines, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump is getting little support from his party’s establishment.

Party chairman Reince Priebus appealed to Mr Trump’s adult children to help amid new signs of a campaign in trouble.

Nehlen said at a Wednesday news conference in Kenosha that Pence’s endorsement of Ryan didn’t surprise him.

Ryan initially refused to endorse Trump, but later did.

On Tuesday, Trump attacked him and House Speaker Paul Ryan, saying he would not endorse either Republican in their re-election efforts.

“First of all, I believe at this moment in time that it’s important to select country over party”, Elmets said.

A trio of Republican women that includes former Jeb Bush adviser Sally Bradshaw, former Chris Christie adviser Maria Comella, and Hewlett Packard executive Meg Whitman who ran for governor of California in 2010 all publicly announced their support for Clinton as well, similarly suggesting that Trump is “unfit” for the Oval Office. Another person said Trump is irritated that general election planning in battleground states isn’t further along with less than 100 days until Election Day. He’s a longtime friend, he’s a strong conservative leader.

Pence phoned in for an interview with Jenna Lee for Fox’s Happening Now, where they discussed the frustrations of Trump’s GOP allies as they continue through a tough campaign week.

NBC News is also reporting that Priebus, along with former Republican New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, is “plotting an intervention with the candidate after a disastrous 48 hours”.

All three chided Trump for engaging in a flap with Khizr and Ghazala Khan, the parents of U.S. Army Capt. Humayun Khan, who was posthumously awarded a Bronze Star and Purple Heart after his death in 2004.

Trump has not endorsed Paul Nehlen, but he made waves Tuesday, August 2nd when he said he wasn’t ready to endorse Ryan. He says Ryan is out of touch with his constituents in Southern Wisconsin and is more interested in pleasing corporate interest groups.

In the interview posted online on Wednesday, the actor-director hailed Mr. Trump as a foe of political correctness. We need very, very strong leadership.

The discord comes just two weeks after the Republican National Convention in Cleveland that formally nominated Trump for president.

He tweeted on Wednesday that “there is great unity in my campaign, perhaps greater than ever before”.

According to a source familiar with the Trump-Pence relationship, it’s not unusual for the running mates to take opposite or differing positions by design.
