On social issues, which have been an overriding concern for Pence – often to his political detriment – Holcomb indicated he’s satisfied with the state’s current balance between religious liberty and its limited anti-discrimination protections for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Hoosiers.
During a half-hour speech in Waukesha, Indiana Governor Mike Pence touched on several messages that are central to the Donald Trump and Mike Pence ticket.
The Indiana Republican State Committee just gave John Gregg, the Democrats’ candidate for governor, a gift.
Pence said he wants to “keep having the kind of conversation that Donald Trump has been having with the American people since the outset of this election” when he speaks with voters Thursday at the DeltaPlex in Walker.
– Fresh off his acceptance as the Republican nomination for vide president, Gov. Mike Pence will be speaking in the metro Detroit area later this week.
INDIANAPOLIS -The Indiana GOP state committee will officially nominate gubernatorial candidate Eric Holcomb’s pick for lieutenant governor Monday.
Holcomb and his wife, Janet, live on the northwest side of Indianapolis. U.S. Representative Susan Brooks was another name with strong backing, including from former Angie’s List CEO Bill Oesterle.
“We. can not allow our state to slip, drift go backward to those days of debt and delayed payments”, Holcomb said.
Rokita’s campaign did not respond to a request for comment, however, he did post the following on his Facebook page: “Knowing that the Republican nominee will have the full support of Gov. Pence and the RGA, the choice must come down to who has the best opportunity to win and help down the ticket”.
“Well, when you speculate about future legislation, we’ll play it as it comes to my desk, should I be honored with being the next governor of this state”, he said.
“Eric Holcomb has sought three different public office positions in just one year, and each campaign has carried the same out-of-touch, ideological agenda that has set both middle-class Hoosiers and Indiana’s economy back”.
The 22 members of the Indiana Republican State Committee scheduled a private meeting Tuesday morning in Indianapolis to choose among Lt. Gov. Eric Holcomb, U.S. Reps.
Governor Scott Walker will attend tonight’s campaign rally in Waukesha with Donald Trump’s running-mate.
Gregg released a statement welcoming the opportunity to link Holcomb to Pence, charging Holcomb “embraced the failed approach that embarrassed our state and cost us jobs”.
