Pence’s statement was prepared before the Trump news conference in Doral, Florida, where he suggested that Russian Federation hack Clinton’s emails, a Pence aide said – indicating the campaign was comfortable with a split before it had happened, as opposed to Pence attempting to clean up a mess Trump had made. He then said, “That’s what freedom looks like. That’s what freedom sounds like”.

“You’ve got a son in the military, how do you tolerate this disrespect?” she asked.

“I didn’t even know it rained in Arizona”, Pence said with a laugh. Pence acknowledged the controversy over Donald Trump’s reaction to Mr. Khan, but also took the opportunity to pay respect to a fallen American hero.

The crowd rallied behind him and cheered.

A spokeswoman for Donald Trump has blamed Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton for the 2004 killing of U.S. Army Capt. Humayun Khan in Iraq – even though the death occurred more than four years before Obama became president.

“Well, I thank you for the question”, he said.

Pence said in a phone interview with Fox News Channel that he’s pleased to endorse Ryan – a day after Trump said in an interview that he’s “just not quite there yet” when it comes to backing Ryan, who has at times been critical of Trump’s most controversial comments.

“I think a president Donald Trump working with a speaker Paul Ryan will be a combination where we’ll be able to rebuild our military, strengthen our economy through tax relief, tax reform, repealing Obamacare”.

The Indiana governor spoke before a crowd of several hundred people in Tucson on Tuesday afternoon before answering several questions from audience members.

Pence said he understands and appreciates the attention given to Khan’s family.

Jack Christenson, a veteran and supporter of the GOP candidate, was less forgiving of the Air Force mother, stating that while Byrne might have had the right to ask her question, she “violated everyone else’s rights” by speaking out at the event.

Since then, Donald Trump has gone on to stage a series of freaky attacks at the Khan family, suggesting that Khan’s wife Ghazala was “not allowed” to speak publicly (she has since gone on to write an opinion piece for The Washington Post explaining that discussing her son’s death in public is too hard for her, as if she should have to).

At the mention of the Kahn family the boos were so loud they nearly drowned out her words.
