Shortly after Nancy passed away at age 94 this past Sunday, her son Ron Reagan spoke toMatt Lauer about the loss.

“Ronald Reagan, that we all came to know as president, would not have existed without Nancy Reagan”, Reagan said during a phone interview on the Today show, one day following the announcement of the former First Lady’s death.

Mr. T rose to prominence in the early 1980s after appearing as “Clubber Lang” in “Rocky III” and starring in the popular TV series, “The A-Team”.

“With grace and charm, Nancy Reagan represented the best of America and captured the spirit of this great country”, he said.

“I don’t think that she ever had another day during his presidency where there wasn’t some sort of fear involved and particularly, of course, when he went out in public”, he said.

The president hosted Reagan at the White House in 2009 for a bill signing for legislation establishing a commission to hold a 100th anniversary celebration of Ronald Reagan’s life.

“Nancy is where she has always wanted to be – with her Ronnie”, Michael Reagan, president of the Reagan Legacy Foundation, wrote on Twitter.

Members of the community may view her in repose at the library Wednesday from 1 p.m.to 7 p.m. and Thursday from 10 a.m.to 2 p.m., said Lori Love, the library’s transition coordinator.

After Ronald’s death in June 2004, Nancy turned over her husband’s diaries to biographer Douglas Brinkley to prove her husband was a pragmatic conservative.

My wife Anne and I first met Nancy Reagan in the fall of 1965 when I was writing a magazine profile of her husband, who was considering running for governor of California.

But her favorite moment, was working side by side with Mrs. Reagan on a pictorial history of her years in the White House.

Mrs. Reagan became an advocate for Alzheimer’s research after her husband was diagnosed with the disease in 1994. She said Reagan thanked her for her work.

The Smithsonian announced Monday that a portrait of the former first lady is on display in the museum’s In Memoriam space.

In a 2001 interview which took place on Ronald Reagan’s 90th birthday, CNN’s Larry King asked the former first lady whether she felt that fate had treated her badly.
