Pence suggests he may release tax forms
At several points the crowd chanted “lock her up”, a frequent campaign rally chant in reference to Trump’s Democratic rival Hillary Clinton.

He saved much of his vitriol for The New York Times and said “maybe we’ll start thinking about taking their press credentials away”.
Republican vice presidential candidate Mike Pence said Saturday that he would release his taxes before Election Day in November – and “when my tax returns are released, it’s going to be a quick read”.
Frustratingly for Republicans, Mr Trump’s missteps have overshadowed hard news for Mrs Clinton: the new release of 44 previously-unreleased email exchanges she had while at the State Department.
But it is rare for a Republican to campaign in the Nutmeg State, though many Trump supporters in attendance in Fairfield were glad he did.
“I think he’s made it very clear, he’s going through an audit at this time and will release the taxes when that audit is complete”, Pence told WABC.
But Trump set up that address with extensive new complaints about the latest disastrous week of coverage and reports of campaign chaos.
Not to blame, Mr Trump suggested, were his own remarks that gun rights supporters could “do something” if Mrs Clinton becomes president and appoints liberal judges, or his repeated insistence on the falsehood that President Barack “Obama founded Isis”. Democrats have suggested he does not want to show them because they might reveal that he is not as wealthy as he claims to be or perhaps that he pays little because of tax breaks for real estate developers.
His anti-media tweet storm topped half a dozen posts by mid-afternoon.
Gaffe-by-gaffe, additional Republicans have come forward to say they’re not supporting his bid, with Carlos Gutierrez, secretary of commerce under President George W. Bush, announcing his support for Clinton on Sunday. A spokesman for the GOP vice presidential candidate told CNN the release would occur before the November election.

The New York Times on Sunday catalogued a culture of crisis inside the Trump campaign.
Given that, Mr Trump’s allies set out on Sunday to bat down bad publicity and warned people not to write Mr Trump off.
But the Clinton campaign is continuing to ramp up the pressure.
U.S. Republican Donald Trump on Saturday repeated his attack on President Barack Obama that he helped “found” Islamic State and railed against media reports that his campaign is failing, at a campaign rally in CT, a state where he has a long-shot of being victorious.
“You never know unless you try”.
“Remember when he said, he did not have sex with that woman, and a couple of weeks later, oh you got me”, Trump said, to cheers.

Trump, meanwhile, has said that he will not release his tax returns while they are under audit by the IRS, though there is no law prohibiting him from doing so. “This coming Monday, you’re going to see a vision for confronting radical Islamic terrorism”.
