Penguins’ Fleury to stay in net for Game 2 vs Blue Jackets
Pittsburgh Penguins goalie Marc-Andre Fleury will play between the pipes in Game 2 on Saturday versus the Columbus Blue Jackets. “We’re going to expect the exact same thing or more”, Allen said. “We’ll get back at it”. It’s a game of momentum. They did just that by jumping out to a two-goal lead against the Presidents’ Trophy winners and aren’t deflated by an overtime loss. I guess we feel bad for all their misery over the years, or maybe we’re just rooting for them to beat Pittsburgh. And while that sounds like a tribute to one of the game’s preeminent players, I promise you it’s anything but. “It’s a marathon, it’s not a sprint”. “We talked about investing after the second period, and sometimes, investments take a little longer to pay off”. Despite looking outmatched in the first period of game one, the Penguins made adjustments and hung three on the Jackets in the second.

Relying on Marc-Andre Fleury isn’t the best-case scenario for the Penguins, but he still has the ability to provide Pittsburgh with what they need in the first round against Columbus. Rust ripped a shot over Bobrovsky’s stick 1:15 into the second to give the Penguins the lead. “They’re going to raise their game and we’re going to raise our game, and we’ve got a chance to see how good we can be”.
“There is coaching involved”, Blue Jackets captain Nick Foligno said.
“You know the importance goes up, the urgency goes up”, Lundqvist said.
“With what he’s been able to accomplish in the game, I think all of us who are aspiring coaches look to guys like Scotty as role models and mentors to try and learn from”. “We always rely on him and, 50-some saves, that’s pretty impressive”, Edmundson told NBC Sports following the game. He’s already missed Game 1 against the Blue Jackets, however, and continues to recover from a reported groin injury. “We need to get more pucks to the blues and make it hard on Fleury by trying to generate some rebounds”. He was set to get the start, but Fleury was the one occupying the starter’s net when puck dropped.
“For the most part, I still consider us an underdog”, Blue Jackets winger and leading scorer Cam Atkinson said. “Both teams play a fast game”. That’s where we have success.

The fact that this team has a guy with 14 years of experience in the league, showcasing career playoff stats such as 101 games played, 54 wins, a 2.64 goals against average, and a save percentage of.906 riding the bench is, in itself, an unbelievable advantage.
