Penn State alum Keegan-Michael Key leads team meeting as James Franklin
Key, a Penn State alum, will be this weekend’s Homecoming Grand Marshal at the school. He’s in Happy Valley for Penn State’s Homecoming festivities – the Michigan native received his Master’s Degree from Penn State – and while in town, he chose to do a James Franklin impression for the players. The two look remarkably similar when wearing the same outfit. We imagine Key won’t be patrolling the sidelines. Instead of Franklin, Key “led” a team meeting. After the stunt, Franklin tells his impersonator that at first the players “thought it was me with different glasses on”.

Key says he was surprised when he was asked to be the grand marshal, citing other alumni he says were more deserving. The comedian is one of the creators and stars of the Key and Peele show.
