Penn State bros proudly show off disgusting Joe Paterno shirts
For background – Saturday, Penn State will honor the late Paterno on the 50th anniversary of his first game as head coach. The news came buried

Players dating to Paterno’s first team in 1966 gathered at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park, which sits in the shadow of Beaver Stadium. They eventually got to the 17 before stalling and coach Matt Rhule elected to go for the field goal, a 34-yard kick by Austin Jones that made it a seven-point game with 2:10 to play.
Paterno was abruptly fired by Penn State in 2011 after Jerry Sandusky, his longtime defensive coordinator, was arrested and charged with sexually abusing children.
Former Penn State coach Joe Paterno has not been officially recognized in Beaver Stadium since he walked out on the field for the last time on October 29, 2011. He was determined to bring to Penn State students who could earn a world-class education and graduate and play football at the highest level.. His blue baseball cap with the Penn State lion logo helped shade his eyes from the early autumn sun that washed the stadium.
Athletic director Sandy Barbour said in a statement Thursday the commemorations would focus on Paterno’s commitment to student-athletes and academics, and the accomplishments of his players.
“In announcing it’s tribute to Paterno, the university loudly declared that college football is more important to its institution than encouraging victims of sexual abuse to report their crimes to law enforcement”, Rosenblatt wrote.
“I do appreciate that [Penn State is] doing something”, said Franco Harris, a former Nittany Lions and Pittsburgh Steelers player who has vocally supported Paterno in the past.
Multiple tributes aired on the video monitors during the game, which caused the same reaction each time.
The role of Paterno’s legacy at the flagship state university has remained a thorny issue and divided the university’s board of trustees.
Many current Penn State students are, understandably, not pleased with the school’s decision to honor Paterno on Saturday. For them, Paterno didn’t do enough to stop Sandusky, an assistant on Paterno’s staff for three decades and believe honoring Paterno in any way is is insensitive to Sandusky’s victims and the severity of the scandal. The university’s president, Eric Barron, has said the allegation was not substantiated in court or tested by any other process.
UD: I just think he’s an average quarterback, this is probably what the Owls will get from him throughout the season. “It’s just how I am”, Barkley said.
Penn State fell behind early and rallied to make it a game thanks to the play of Trace McSorley, who threw for 332 yards and a touchdown.

The Nittany Lions took over and, on a second-and-5 play from their own 45, Barkley took a handoff and weaved his way through the left side of the line before a hellacious cut to his right put him in the clear. One woman wiped a tear from her eye as she placed a brick at the site about two hours before kickoff.
