Penn State Fires Offensive Coordinator John Donovan
Penn State athletics announced on Sunday afternoon that offensive coordinator and tight ends coach John Donovan has been fired.

It was not immediately made clear who would take over the offensive coordinator duties for Penn State’s bowl game, but Franklin said earlier in the season he planned to take on a larger role within the offense.
Franklin will immediately begin a national search for Donovan’s replacement. “I wish him and his family nothing but the best in the future”.
Donovan spent five years on Franklin’s staff, the first three at Vanderbilt and the last two at Penn State.
BYU 63, Penn State 51: Lexi Rydalch scored 24 points to lead BYU (3-3) past Penn State (3-3) in the Radisson Chatsworth Thanksgiving Classic in Northridge, Calif. Peyton Whitted scored 15 points for the Nittany Lions.
Payton Banks hit a go-ahead 3-pointer with 23 seconds left for the Nittany Lions (3-2), who finished the game on a 13-1 run. Penn State’s defensive squeeze held them to 29.8 percent on field goals, 30 percent on 3-pointers and well below their scoring average.
That has become a hard, bad habit to break for the Nittany Lions in recent weeks, one that has led fans to a new level of frustration with the staff. But on Saturday, their most frequent target – Donovan – called a game that led to 418 total yards while it was the typically stout defense that struggled throughout the game.
Maryland 70, Pitt 49: Brionna Jones had 22 points and 14 rebounds and No. 6 Maryland (6-0) beat Pitt (4-2) in the final game of the Paradise Jam in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. We obviously have a lot of work to do, all of us. There are 127 teams at the Division I level.
