Pennsylvania 400 turned out to be one for the little guy

He’s not there yet.

The race will run at 11 a.m. Martin Truex Jr.is on the pole and Kurt Busch tries to sweep Pocono in the track’s second Monday race of the season. Six laps later, heavy fog rolled in and blanketed the 2½-mile triangular track to bring out the yellow flag. The top 16 drivers, based on wins then points, will make the 10-race Chase for the Championship. “We have been really digging hard as a company to not suck”.

No need. He was declared the victor after 80 minutes on pit road. “It doesn’t even feel real right now”. Keselowski was second at 176.136 miles per hour and Kevin Harvick was third in the No. 4 Chevrolet at 176.012 miles per hour. That includes Dale Earnhardt Jr., who is winless and continues to fall in the standings while recovering from concussion-like symptoms as Jeff Gordon subs for him. The same is true for rookie Chase Elliott, who has had the best points season of any rookie.

Based on their performance to this point of the season, Buescher and Front Row Motorsports have to step up their game.

“The reason you kept cars out on the track under caution was to see if the fog was going to roll through, and if you red flagged the race and the fog had lifted, we’ve got a long delay to get back, and we didn’t have that many laps to go”. It was a great victory for him and Osborne, a former crew chief for Carl Edwards. Rosberg also picked up a five-second penalty and had to settle for fourth, after winning the Hockenheim race two years ago.

“I’m just trying to remember every rain dance I’ve ever learned”, Buescher said over his radio shortly after the race was stopped.

Buescher is now on the brink of becoming the first Chase bracket buster.

Toyota has 10 wins this season and nine in the last 15 races, highlighted by consecutive wins by JGR drivers Matt Kenseth at New Hampshire and Kyle Busch last weekend at the Brickyard. Kyle Larson grabbed a spot on the Chase grid by finishing fifth in Indianapolis. “They made the call up on the box to pull it off. This is going to stir up our whole year”. Gordon is the winningest NASCAR driver at Pocono with six victories….

Brad Keselowski starts seventh only days after he was involved in a brutal wreck during a test session at Watkins Glen. “This was our first chance to really take a look mid-season, get the cars exactly as they were on the race track, take them from here and then perform the analysis”.

“We go into tonight with a full expectation of getting the race in”, Culbert said.

With rain looming toward the halfway point, Larson and Dillon engaged in a thrilling five-lap battle for first.

Sure there was an assist from Mother Nature when the race was cut short by weather22 laps from its scheduled conclusion, but it doesn’t matter. “Those guys were racing the heck out of each other and racing for their first win, and there was rain in the forecast so that was for the win in my opinion”.

It’s quite a pleasant change to see drivers make both right and left turns after watching them drive in circles in all the other races.

Truex got back on the track and hit the wall twice more before retiring the vehicle in 38th-place after completing 82 laps. On Sunday NASCAR could return to how things were done in the early 90’s (what many fans beg for) and fans would still find an issue with it.
