Pennsylvania AG found guilty in perjury case
Pennsylvania Attorney General Kathleen Kane was found guilty Monday night of a series of crimes relating to a 2014 grand jury leak. Pennsylvania Attorney General Kathleen Kane walks down a hall at the Montgomery County Courthouse, Monday, Aug. 15, 2016, in Norristown, Pa., where closing arguments are expected during her perj.

But on Monday that came to an end when a jury convicted her of all nine counts in a perjury and obstruction case. Judge sets sentencing within 90 days and warns Kane, who is free on bail, that she will be jailed immediately for any act of retaliation against any witness.
Her political consultant described being taken by her security agents to a Philadelphia parking garage to be frisked for a wire – and stripped of his wallet, cellphone and keys – all so he could have lunch with Kane at a hotel.
Kathleen Kane’s lead counsel said she will decide in the next few days whether or not to step down as Attorney General. “I’m not going to say otherwise”, said Kane’s attorney, Gerald Shargel.
FOX43 will have more details on Attorney General Kathleen Kane’s conviction as it becomes available.
Kane, the first Democrat and first woman elected to serve as state attorney general, was directed to surrender her passport.
She allegedly disclosed confidential grand jury documents from a 2009 investigation to a reporter for the Philadelphia Daily News in June 2014. “The Democratic attorney general insists the charges against her are being brought as a kind of revenge, because when Kane investigated the [Jerry] Sandusky [child molestation] case, she also uncovered a trove of emails in which she says officials were found to have used government email accounts ‘to trade pornographic and bigoted images and jokes'”.
Instead, he said, Kane’s chief deputy, Adrian King, abused his power when he sent the files to a reporter through Kane’s political consultant.
“Where is my story?”
Defense lawyer Seth Farber, in closing arguments Monday, said Morrow and King would “say whatever they need to in order to protect themselves”. Kane did not testify in her own defense.
Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele noted, though, that Kane had chosen the men as confidants. Legislative leaders, both Republicans and Democrats, as well as the governor have called on Ms. Kane to step down for more than a year.
Jurors deliberating criminal charges against Pennsylvania’s attorney general have asked to review her grand jury testimony as they weigh perjury and false-swearing charges against her.
Shortly after her conviction, Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf (D) issued a statement calling on Kane to “resign immediately”.
Kane has lost her law license over the charges and is not seeking reelection, but under Pennsylvania law she could remain in office as the appeals process plays out.

“I am offended as a prosecutor for what she did as the top prosecutor, committing crimes while the top prosecutor”, said Henry.
