Gov. Tom Wolf said the charges were “unbecoming of the Commonwealth’s top law enforcement officer”.

A jury found Pennsylvania Attorney General Kathleen Kane guilty Monday on perjury and obstruction charges, leaving the state’s top prosecutor facing a potential prison term for what a county district attorney said began as a case of political score-settling. He says “there should be no question” that Democrat Kathleen Kane should resign immediately. Legislative leaders, both Republicans and Democrats, as well as the governor have called on Ms. Kane to step down for more than a year.

Several lawmakers have vowed to use obscure legal manoeuvres to remove her if she does not voluntarily step down. Prosecutors said that in 2014 Ms. Kane illegally leaked grand jury information from a 2009 investigation into a former head of the NAACP in Philadelphia to.

There was no mention of whether Kane intends to resign now.

A jury has found Pennsylvania Attorney General Kathleen Kane guilty on all counts.

Kane is now free on bail, and she’s been ordered to turn over her passport.

“Who would say that other than the person that is responsible for it?”

There is no doubt that Ms. Kane is the primary architect of her own demise.

The judge said sentencing will take place within 90 days.

A defense lawyer has vowed to appeal.

“She knew it was wrong, she knew it was against the law, and she didn’t care”.

Kane showed little emotion as the verdict was announced.

An aide for Kane testified during the trial that she became “hell-bent on getting back at Frank Fina”, and described her behaviour as “unhinged”.

Judge Wendy Demchick-Alloy warned Kane any attempt to retaliate against witnesses would mean her immediate arrest. She was accused of leaking grand jury documents to hurt her political rival, but then denied that it happened.

Kane has reportedly portrayed the prosecution as revenge for uncovering the sharing of pornography among prosecutors, judges, and defense attorneys over state servers. They contend she made “honest mistakes” when testifying to the grand jury, but did not intentionally lie. “Not just to them, but to the citizens of this commonwealth and I am glad to see that the end is just finally in sight”, she said. King and the consultant, Josh Morrow, testified against Kane last week.
