A grand jury recommended charges in December in connection with allegations Kane unlawfully leaked information from a 2009 investigation in what witnesses said was an attempt to embarrass critics.

Counsel for Pennsylvania Attorney General Kathleen Kane responded late Thursday afternoon to criminal charges filed against her, saying she is innocent. She grew up in Scranton and is a former Lackawanna County assistant district attorney.

Kane’s office has not yet confirmed that she will be charged Thursday.
“I am not sure how the top law enforcement officer in Pennsylvania can continue to perform her duties while she is defending herself against these serious charges”, Wolf said Thursday. “I look forward to the opportunity to present my case in a public courtroom and move beyond the behind-the-scenes maneuvering that has defined the process to this point”, Kane said in the statement.
At Kane’s Waverly Township home, no one answered the front door.

Doug Cain of the Louisiana State Police identified the suspect as Grover Deandre Cannon, 27, and said he was wanted not only in the fatal shooting of officer Thomas LaValley on Wednesday but also in another shooting in July. Ferman announced earlier this year she would not seek re-election to the district attorney’s office, where she has worked since 2003. “They are true warriors of justice”. According to court papers, Kane did whatever she did to get even with Fina.

Kane was the first Democrat elected to the office as well as its first woman. These prosecutors represent both political parties. Morrow then passed the information on to a reporter. She added that Kane “undertook these actions seeking vengeance and retribution against other law enforcement professionals”. The official was by no means charged.
Chuck Ardo, a spokesman for the attorney general, said: “The last time we heard a call for a sentence before a verdict was delivered was in ‘Alice in Wonderland.’ People who are calling for her resignation clearly aren’t waiting for a trial”.
“The office is bigger than the attorney general”, he said. “They took great risks, personally and professionally, and I thank them”. He also saw emails regarding the protective order and learned the identity of one of the grand jurors. The Office of Disciplinary Counsel investigates complaints for the 13-member disciplinary board.
