On Thursday, Montgomery County District Attorney filed charges against Kane in a 42-page affidavit, which describes Kane as furious with anonymous sources who portrayed her as soft on crime in a March 2014 story in The Philadelphia Inquirer. Carpenter is the judge overseeing the grand jury investigating Kane.

It should be noted that working for Williams as he pursued the investigation Kane stopped was Frank Fina, a one-time chief deputy to the attorney general who quit the AG’s office after Kane shut the corruption inquiry down to join Williams’ staff. But Kane can release the sexually explicit emails any time she chooses under the state’s Right-to-Know Law, according to a previous court ruling from a Cambria County judge.
“During this process the Attorney General has utilized Commonwealth owned property and Commonwealth employed personnel to further her actions for her defense and has financially benefited from the use of Commonwealth personnel and property”, Stilp said Tuesday.
Kane has taken no retribution against Barker or anyone else, Ardo said.
The Supreme Court has received at least one complaint requesting the suspension of her law license, a move that would force her from office. Kane has been charged with obstructing the administration of law, official oppression, perjury, criminal conspiracy and false swearing.
Prosecutors have also accused Kane of instructing some of her staff to monitor employee emails as the grand jury was wrapping up its investigation of her in late 2014.
“I am not sure how the top law enforcement officer in Pennsylvania can continue to perform her duties while she is defending herself against these serious charges”, Wolf said after the charges against Kane were announced.
Tuesday was not Stilp’s first call for an investigation into Kane. He is charged with indirect criminal contempt and will face a hearing on September 9 before Carpenter.
Kane is accused of leaking confidential grand jury information to a newspaper to embarrass a former state prosecutor she thought made her look bad and then lying about it under oath. House Resolution 435 calls for Kathleen Kane’s impeachment.

She says she intends to fight the charges against her.
