Penny has dropped for Saido Berahino

West Bromich Albion are reportedly preparing for life after Saido Berahino who emerged as a transfer target for Chelsea, reports the Metro. The most important thing is to realise and recognise it’s him that’s important and he’s got be right physically and mentally.

But boss Pulis says Berahino did extra training in the global break to regain his goal-scoring touch and re-focus again after fresh talks this week.

According to reports in the Telegraph, the Blues will do their best to sign a new star striker in the January transfer window after Radamel Falcao completely flopped for the second season in a row in the Premier League.

“But it’s taken a while and it’s taking a while to get him back to thinking straight”.

“The opportunity of going to a top four or five club, and not getting a move that he thought was going to just happen, really shook him”.

Berahino has scored just three league goals in eleven appearances this season and was left out for a few games in August amid speculation about his future.

“It did affect Saido without a question of a doubt”.

And Pulis expects more uncertainty surrounding Berahino when the transfer window re-opens.

Having said that, the difference in the two clubs on current form as well as general quality makes Arsenal big favourites to come away from the Hawthorns with all three points. “The age he is and at this stage in his career he has to be switched on and he’s not switched on like the back-end of last season when he was great for us”.

“He understands, he knows the score, the penny’s dropped with him”.
