On September 17, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit his home state Gujarat on his 66th birthday and spend time with “tribals” and “divyangs” (differently abled persons). It’s the Indian Prime Minister’s birthday tomorrow, and his native state, Gujarat, is going to witness a different kind of celebration.

Modi, who will be celebrating his birthday in Gujarat, will attend the events organized by the state government.

Last but not the least, the organizers also expected to bag another record of, 1500 oil lamps which will lit simultaneously at a single location.

“This programme is inspired by central government’s “Accessible India” campaign under which people with disability given hearing aids, wheelchairs and tricycles, calipers and prosthetics’ and multi-sensory integrated educational development kits among other items”, official said. Dahod collector Lalit Padaliya said the inauguration ceremony will be held at Limkheda town, around 25 km from the city, and the PM will also address a rally there.

The Prime Minister will leave for Limkheda in the tribal district of Dahod to inaugurate the government’s water and irrigation schemes entailing an expenditure of Rs 1,755 crore.

Modi is likely to hold a meeting with Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and BJP leaders of Gujarat where state assembly elections are scheduled for next year. “The special drive for this goal will be launched on September 17th”, State BJP president Jitu Vaghani told The Hindu.
